Yesterday was 5 months exactly since second transplant. I was flipping through the pictures in Carol’s cell phone and came across this photo. (The stuffed animal in the photo is the bear I knit for my little cousin in New York while I was in the hospital.) The picture was taken sometime this past May. It seems like forever ago. It was pre-second transplant, and looking back I just remember being so sick. At one point I couldn’t even move from my bed to the commode right by my side without gasping for breath and struggling the whole way. With my legs feeling much better, I feel like pretty soon I’ll be up and walking to build endurance in preparation to go back to work. I know I’ve said it a million times, but the human body never ceases to amaze me.

Back then, you were so sick, you could barely talk without having to pause to catch your breath. You have gotten SO much stronger since this picture. The human body may amaze you, but YOUR human body amazes a lot of people…and I’m at the top of that list. You are an amazing woman! Now GO GET SOME KICK *SS YARN!!
