Today I made an attempt to make a batch of caramelized spiced nuts.  It was an all around fail.  First, it was difficult maneuvering around my tiny kitchen and had to have a lot of help getting pans and utensils as it is difficult to bend or reach down.  Second, everything took twice as long as I had to move slowly.  Third, I was quite out of breath by the time I had all the ingredients on the counter and the nuts boiling away in the sugar mix.  Fourth, I left them in the oven too long and it got quite a bit more toasty than intended.  Thankfully I only made half the recipe.

This experience was quite a reality check.  I can’t even make a damn batch of nuts.
