Gotta love the front page of today’s paper.  If you live on planet Earth you know that the Giants won the World Series last night.  As you can imagine, the entire city was crazed with thousands of people celebrating in the streets.  Way to go Giants!

Of course this got my inner nerd to wonder, why is it called the World Series?  Life’s Little Mysteries states that the term was coined in 1903 by Barney Dreyfuss, owner of the Pittsburgh Pirates, when he sent a letter to the owner of the Boston Americans, now known as the Boston Red Sox, challenging the team to “a World’s Championship Series”.
