Carol again.
Susan is moving out of the ICU today, back to the Moffitt side of the 10th floor. Room 1042. She has been off of the ventilator for 3 nights in a row with no problems, and is much stronger. She can pretty much get up from her chair and the commode by herself, and has been walking more each day.
Today she also had a swallowing evaluation with excellent results, so she’ll be back to a “regular” diet soon.
Her nurse today commented that she was thrilled to see Susan with her sass back. For anyone else interested in some Susan sass, come on by and visit. She says she’s finally feeling up to visitors again.
Oh, and thanks so much for everyone involved with the knit-a-thon. It has been a huge success.

Susan and Carol…it was GREAT to see you both today! The Susan sass is definitely back! It was great to be involved in conversation that even involved smiling and laughing! I feel like we’ve all (especially you!!) waited so long to hear the laughter! MUSIC to my ears! What a great visit! Jami and I left and as soon as we closed the door, we both looked at each other and said “OH MY GOD!!” We were SO happy when we left!
Susan, you are AMAZING! And it’s wonderful to see you back to your old self again! Prayers and good wishes for continued success with your recovery! Look forward to seeing you again real soon!! 😀 😀 😀
PS…sorry about bugging you so much about coming back to work. We just miss you sooooo much! 😀

Kelli, just let us know what you want and we’ll knit it! Some of us aren’t all THAT experienced, so we’re a little limited to scarves, hats, blankets, stuffed animals, socks (only baby socks, so far). Just let us know!! 🙂
